Karachi Braces For Heavy Rainfall This Week

The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts another heavy rain spell in Karachi later this week, with a new rain system expected to impact western Pakistan. Moderate to heavy rain is forecasted for Karachi on the night of 17-18 April, leading to alerts from the National Disaster Management Authority due to potential floods across the country.

Snowfall in mountainous regions and possible landslides and flooding in Balochistan’s rivers are anticipated, with flood risks also in rivers like Kabul, Swat, and Panjkora. Areas like Nowshera, Charsadda, and Peshawar are expected to be affected, along with low-lying regions.

Additionally, this pattern of rain was observed last Sunday, indicating a repetition of similar weather conditions this weekend in Karachi.
